Wellness the key to quality education

Manav Rachna Group of Institutions strive for: “A sound mind in a sound body”. From better student grades to strong community roots, college sports provide the gears that run universities.   Sports are an indispensable part of the education system, the world over. If education illuminates the mind with the light of knowledge, sports help to maintain a healthy physique.
MREI initiated Manav Rachna Sports Academy (MRSA), at its MRIS Sector 14,  to advance the cause of sports. The sports facilities available at MRSA are world class complete with state-of-the-art infrastructure and training provided by renowned names in the national and international sports circuits.  At the Manav Rachna Educational Institutions facilities exist in the field of Shooting, Swimming, cricket,  Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Chess, Carrom, Golf, Basketball, Volleyball, , Physiotherapy, Skating,  and Soccer. A fully air-conditioned 25 metres shooting range and 10 metres indoor range exists at the University campus. We have had the honour of having the shooting range inaugurated by Olympics gold medalist Abhinav Bindra. Star shooters Gagan Narang, Vijay Kumar, Annuraj Singh, Aneesha Syed and Shweta Chaudhary have also been associated with the group. Many of them have used the Academy’s shooting range for practice sessions.   
The Academy is also known for its fully air-conditioned six synthetic Badminton courts along with Lockers/Physiotherapy room/Rest room. The Academy also prides itself on five top-of-the-line Table Tennis playing facilities in association with STAG and two rubberized lawn tennis courts complete with flood lights for night time play. A Carrom room, Pool and Billiards room, one Basketball court, two Volleyball courts and a lush green Soccer field make MRSA a much sought-after sports academy in the region.  The Golf Academy was inaugurated by former Indian test cricketer Nikhil Chopra.
Whether it is the University Campus or the schools spread across the NCR or Ludhiana sports facilities make the students spoilt for choice. The Manav Rachna schools boast of swimming pools and shooting ranges, besides other sports facilities which are world class and have world leading sport persons like P.V.Sindhu, the badminton queen, visiting the campuses to  guide our students. Sports clinics are held at regular intervals where sports personalities from across the world lend their specialized training sessions.
The Management under the guidance of Dr Amit Bhalla introduced the Corporate Cricket Challenge Cup a decade ago where Corporates from across India, participate to play a series of cricket matches to take away the coveted Corporate cup which is dedicated to the Founder Visionary, Dr O.P.Bhalla who was passionate about games, and believed in the theory of a healthy mind in a healthy body.  Well known cricketers like Bishen Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev, Gautam Gambhir, Kirti Azad, Chetan Chauhan, have regularly visited our campuses;

Through its glorious 20 year journey of providing quality education to students, MREI has laid emphasis on sports in the student’s overall personality development and made it an integral part of the curriculum.
